Join us for our second Chinese New Year gathering that combines Qigong and Writing. The Yang Fire Horse rides into our lives as a symbol of nothing less than liberation of the spirit, with hooves pounding and hearts racing. It doesn’t enter gently; it will burst into our lives demanding that we move quickly, not away from something but towards ourselves.
The Ancient Chinese movements of Qigong allow the body to sense, cultivate and release energy. This gives us access to emotions and a quiet mind, opening pathways for written expression. We will provide prompts for writing in all forms, supportive space and embodied exercises for relaxed awareness.
Together we will:
cultivate mind body flow
open channels of energy, intuition and imagination
learn gentle movements for power, strength and stamina
leave the the critical voice in the dust
practice healing meditation and specific movements for the heart, triple heater and liver
read example poems to invoke thought & draw inspiration
use various free-writing techniques to explore unbridling in all its meaning and measure
Led by Bobbi Esmark, Tai Chi and Qigong teacher, painter, printmaker, & Lissa Kiernan, poet, founder and director of the Poetry Barn.
Register early: Limited small group.
